Upcoming Changes in CRD 6/CRR 3: An Overview of the New EU Banking Rules

To enhance the banking sector’s resilience and increased financial stability, EU has implemented the vast majority of the Basel III global standards. In December 2023 the remaining elements of the banking package was endorsed by the Council and EU Parliament and will be implemented in the EU Law. The banking package consists of a legislative act to amend the Capital Requirements Directive (Directive 2013/36/EU) and a legislative act to amend the Capital Requirements Regulation (Regulation No (EU) 2013/575).
